ed and lupe

My new favourite song is by one of my favourite singer/songwriters, Ed Sheeran, and one of my favourite rappers, Lupe Fiasco. I could listen to Ed's album, +, all day, everyday. He has such a calm and soothing voice that makes the cloudy weather sunny, and the depressing days, happy. And then you bring in Lupe who has some of the most philosophically eye-opening music out there. American Terrorists Pt. 2 (Superheroes), produced by TheFatRat (another one of my favourites), gets me every time.

What do they both have in common? Music that makes you pay attention to what their saying. Music that makes you think. A lot of the monotonous pop music that is produced today has the most meaningless lyrics where you stop paying attention to what the artist is saying, and only end up listening because of the catchy, yet replaceable, pop beat (that's partly why mash-ups with pop songs are so easy to do: most pop songs are so easy manipulable because it all sounds the same and has the same beat).

Not only do they musically have something amazing in common, but when brought together? Pure genius. Enjoy!
